Power & Energy
The ARPL's Power and Energy Group is comprised of an integrated team of engineers and scientists that are currently working on collaborative research projects aimed at supporting the development of advanced technologies for defense and homeland security customers. Current projects include the following: 1) developing alternative fuels from biorenewable resources and deep sea resources with the aim to make the USA independent from foreign sources of oil, 2) thermal and fluid systems modeling of energy generation and utilization devices in buildings so as to reduce energy consumption, and 3) application of computers, including intelligent systems, to solve problems in power systems operations and thereby reduce energy use.
